Hello all.
My name is Casey. I'm posting my ideas about todays likely worthwhile betting propositions. Like the author of this blog, I was once a GG contributor when it was a serious site. I'll post here from time to time and, with steady weather /going on our side, hopefully we can have some profitable times.
Today(Fri) racing is thin on the ground as poor weather wipes a lot of it out. I do, however,have a couple at Mus and Wolves and one later in the day over the sticks at Fontwell.
Musselburgh - 2:00
Even though this is confined to 3 yr olds, there is a lot of pretty exposed horses. In a race that can only be described as average at best, I'm chancing my arm on the improver, WILD SAUCE. It's true to say it's a bit of an ask as its only win, and 4 of its 5 races have been on the sand, but it's still showing steady progression. I have no qualms about the gd/sft surface as it made its 2 yr old debut on it and ran well enough to place. It could be that the mark of 62 could prove a snip as the handicapper has only had its sand form to go on.
Mussleburgh - 3:00
A small field but very close and competitive. Four of the eight who go to post won last time. Of these, CLAYTON stands out as his run was a debut( albeit on sand) and it was obviously expected as it went off EVS fav and won by a big distance going away. This is not a high step up. The likely improvement could see this run up a sequence.
Wolves - 4:40
This is a nice, manageable handicap with a max of 10 runners. It should concern the 2 main protagonists TEAK, and ISHIKAWA. Both won well on sand last time and both have been hurdling prior. The latter is the one for me. ISHIKAWA(NAP) showed nice improvement winning last time. Apart from the NH form his flat form is average. His AW form, however is 2 wins, 2 places from 4 starts, the last being the most impressive. The mark of 64 looks manageable as he had a few mid to high 60 horses behind last time and would have also come on for the run.
Fontwell - 7:45
COLINS DESIRE ( NB) finally got off the mark last time after a frustrating set of jumping displays. Still only a 6 yr old and lightly raced, the unseats and pull ups looked a thing of the past as it jumped well and stayed well over 3m 1f and won off 81. That was a big improvement and, due to its lack of completions prior, the handicapper hasn't punished him harshly. Despite the 7LB anchor he runs off the same mark here against a weak field. A clear round should see a repeat win here
In summary
NAP = ISHIKAWA
NB = COLINS DESIRE
Good luck all who play.
