About Me

For the past few years, I have dedicated the majority of my time to horse racing. I have become an established member of numerous racing forums and I am sure a few of you will have seen my 'Please Ignore' threads on GG and Everythinghorseracing.co.uk (great forum). In my spare time I also advise a number of parties concerning bloodstock and dosage profiles. In the last 5 years I have formulated numerous selection filters and rating systems which have allowed me to achieve substantial profit on a yearly basis. I have also established links with a number of stables, and receive regular info which I will share on the blog as and when I receive it. For me horse racing is a passion and I'm always looking at ways to improve, both as a tipster and as an equine enthusiast. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and feel free to contact me either via email at myhorseracing101@gmail.com or via twitter at horses4course.

Todays Personal Selections

Having already posted a few info selections for today I have now had a chance to look at the two cards today and my selections are as follows;

2:15 Wolverhampton - HOMEWARD STRUT (9/2) - Now this is a very difficult race to call especially when its certain to be run at a furious pace with no fewer than 3 front runners in a field of just 6. Despite this horse obviously being disadvantaged by the weights, he has been running against some good opposition in handicap company and is also suited to racing in behind a fast pace. Course and Distance form is all important in these kinds of races as is the jockey’s ability to judge the pace and time his run. Fanning is a master of this art and although his record in 3yo claimers is poor, I believe his booking is a shrewd move by Sheridan. Obviously the likes of ROKER HOSPITAL will be difficult to beat, but she is far from straight forward and to be honest I don't think her handicap mark reflects her ability whereas Homeward Strut is clearly a horse on the up and is probably well in off his current mark of 62. At 9/2 he looks like good value and there has been plenty of money around for him this morning, I'm going for a mid-stakes win bet.

2:45 Wolverhampton - GOING FRENCH (9/1) E/W - I wise man once told me to follow horses who drop back into weak maidens having raced in a handicaps and this horse is a prime example of such a runner. Obviously the two expenses purchases in the lineup, PASHAN GARH & SIR MAX are all the rage at the moment but they are both too short for my liking. There is no doubt that Sir Max has the pedigree to win the race, especially as the trainer is in such a rich vein of form, but his second string horses in the stable usually need a run and this particular horse is drawn wide for his debut which should make life difficult. Pashan Garh put in a reasonable performance on his debut but it looked like a very weak race and he was very weak in the market before the off. The course at Wolves is very different to Lingfield and in my opinion there is no value at 7/4.

GOING FRENCH returned from a substantial break for his new yard back in feb and out ran his odds (50/1) to finish second in what looks like a reasonable maiden. His next race was in handicap company and it had bounce written all over it, he only managed to beat one rival home but the result probably doesn't do him justice as only 3 1/4 lengths covered first to last and he was eased close home after being short of room in the run in. The horse's new yard isn't exactly prolific on the AW but they have made a long trip to Wolves today and I just have a feeling that this horse can take advantage of an inexperienced field and record a much needed win before turning out under a penalty later this week (entered in a handicap on the 19th).

That completes my selections for the day and I'm hoping I can continue the winning trend of the blog, best of luck if you follow.
